Program "Russian studies and Russian" is realised by Russian Language Centre with the participation of geographical faculty of Moscow State University.
It
includes practical lectures about Russia (in English) and Russian language course.
The course is intended for foreign citizens, studying politics, economic and culture of Russia and Russian language.

- Additional days of accommodation and hours of tuition are paid according to the price list.

The aim: to acquaint audience with the main elements, objects, phenomenons, and structure of socio-cultural and natural area of Russia.
Description of the lectures:
Theme 1 - "Russian in global world". Objectives. To give an idea about:
- Who is the ally of Russia in the world? Europe, USA, ...? Russia and NATO.
- Is it possible to trust Russia? Whether there is something that Russia conceals?
- Is it correct to talk about new stage of cold war?
- Raw and energy safety of Russia.
- Struggle against terrorism.
Theme 2 - "Russian in world economic space". In this lecture we`ll try to answer the questions:
- Russia in a world economic division of labour.
- Natural factors of formation of economic geography of Russia: natural zones, the largest landscape complexes, objects of the natural population.
- Economic resources.
Theme 3 - "Russia between East and West". In this lecture we`ll try to answer the following questions:
- Who are Russian people?
- Is Russia rich or poor country?
- Are Russian people friendly?
- What Russian people are looking for abroad?
- Why the best mathematicians and chess players are born in Russia?
- Is russian literature well-known in the world? Who are L.Tolstoi, F.Dostoevsky, A.Chekhov.
- Whethet ideals of Soviet Union revive in Russia or the new ones born?
- How Russians see their future? Difference in thinking.
Theme 4 - "Natural geography of Russia". Objectives. To give an idea about:
- Climate of Russia.
- Natural factors of formation of cultural geography of Russia: natural zones, the largest landscape complexes, objects of the natural population, reserves.
- Russian fauna.
- The basic cultural-geographical areas Russian Federations and their cultural symbols.
Theme 5 - "Oral interview". Objectives: to fix the heard material.
- The interview is held in russian language and includes discussion of listened material.
