Moscow State University, the oldest and the most magnificent Russian university, was founded in 1755 with participation and concerned assistance of the first Russian academician M.V. Lomonosov.
Today MSU comprises 27 faculties, 15 institutes, more than 600 sub-faculties, departments and laboratories. The Elementary Level
The intensive training program is supposed to be 80-100 academic hours
Stage 1
The alphabet, studying of 300 new words, competent pronunciation, spelling and reading, studying of paramount grammar. Upon termination of you seize the colloquial and written Russian connected with household situations and real events, occuring in a daily life.
Stage 2
Fastening of the material which has been passed at 1-st Stage, gradual mastering by time forms of verbs,case system, more than 300 new expressions, perception on hearing of Russian speech, fast reaction to the questions set by the teacher and skill to set passers. Upon termination of 2-nd stage the lexicon of the student should make 750 words.
The Basic level
The Basic level includes perfection of knowledge of the case system, the use of times and verbal aspects, verbs of motion with prefixes and without prefixes. Expression of spatial attitudes. Adverbs, turn, pronouns, adjectives, participles and verbal adverbs will be included in your dictionary.
Stage 1
You improve the knowledge in sphere of "every day" lexicon. Thus verbs of the perfect and imperfect kind, an adverb, a pronoun, adjectives, participles and verbal adverbs are actively used in speech. More than 400 new expressions. You can make the message on a theme " My family ", "Health", "Vacation", "Phone conversation", " My hobby ", etc.
Stage 2
At this stage you reach a high level of knowledge of grammar. Special texts of "business" sphere of Russian, the firms connected with work, marketing and advertising are entered into lexicon.
Stage 3
Your conversation becomes very active, its rate is accelerated, full knowledge of grammar. The subjects of "cultural" sphere is included in lexicon - history of Russia, history of becoming of Moscow and other cities, conversations about scientists and cultures.

 Day of Russian language and Slavic script
In the Kazakhstan branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University on May, 24th students and teachers of chair of
philology have celebrated Day of slavic script and culture. In Russian orthodox church for May, 24th it is a day of memory
sacred Cyril and Mefodiy. Slavic writing arose during that time, when Slavs started to create their states. Cyril
and Mefody were the ingenious, comprehensively formed people, betrayed to slavic education. They from the very beginning
created a literary language for all slavic world which in IX century was in the language relation unseparable and was such on an extent at least two centuries.

Russia prepares new tests for knowledge of russian language for those who
would like to receive Russian citizenship. New test tasks will be ready in September.
Russia has a quite good base for teaching Russian as foreign language. It is necessary to modify check system, perhaps, to modernize. Under
order of Ministry of Education some departments are engaged in this case.Among them Institute of friendship of people
(it is clear why - in this high school study foreigners), the Center of the international education of the Moscow State University and philological faculty of the Petersburg university.

Migrants must study Russian
To get a job in Russia migrants have to pass examination on Russian language. The hearings concerning migration
took place in Public chamber of the Russian Federation. The commission on the national policy approved coressponding amendments. Now all migrants
in order to receive a workplace have to pass test and to have in a lexicon not less than 780 Russian words. If visitors will confirm
the knowledge of russian language even at an elementary level, it will give them privileges on employment.

Last week in London was the week of Russian language and literature.

The exhibition
"Russian books"
The exhibition "Russian books" took place on March, 12th in Moscow.
The exhibition will finish on March, 18th. About 600 publishing houses take part in the exhibition.
During the exhibition visitors meet with known Russian writers Valery Voskoboynikov, Marina Druzhinina,

Pushkin's premium, 2008
Pushkin's institute (Tallin) has founded Pushkin's Premium which will stand out to teachers of Russian language. It is the first premium that will encourage contribution to development of Russian language in Estonia.
"Since this year, the premium will be annually awarded to teachers of Russian language. In Estonia, as we know, Russian language is the second foreign language. More than thirds of inhabitants of the country speak Russian," - has informed rector of institute of Pushkin professor Andrey Krasnoglazov.
"The premium also is established on two nominations: to the teacher of Russian language as native and to the teacher of Russian language as foreign," - he has told.
"It seems to us very important, that embassy of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Education of the Estonian Republic and Russian business have suppose this idea," - has told the head of Institute of Pushkin.
Known people will participate in ceremony. In it to year, for example, the premium will be handed over by the descendants of the poet - Maria Pushkin-Durnovo and Alexander Pushkin.

Guests of festival Russian winter in London celebrated the old style new year.
The old style new year celebrated quests of festival Russian winter in London. According to the mayoralty of London,
this meeting has visited about 75 thousand person. The stage has been erected on Trafalgar Square near the column of admiral Nelson. There were also log huts-boothes in national Russian style. Visitors of festival had
an opportunity to studyhistory and traditions of Russia. They could observe work of woodcarvers, to try national Russian kitchen; to learn to game on Russian national tools - wooden spoons, rattles, balalaikas. One of the purpose of the festival was also popularization of russian language.

Russian language needs care
2007 is the Year of russian language. In Pedagogical University of Yaroslavl fifth scientific conference is held under the name "The Man. Russian language. Information space." It gathered scientists from Moscow, Perm, Orenburg, Tyumen and other Russian cities.

Russian as a foreign language won!
On Dec.03, in a big hall of Moscow House took place ceremony of completion of a Year of Russian language in Latvia.
As part of the festival the prize winners and winners of "Best teacher of Russian language and literature-2007" were awarded.
This year the teachers of Russian language of Latvian schools became winners. "...the role of foreign language teachers, especially in Russian language, is particularly important. For those who study Russian as a foreign language, it is a very complicated and laborious process," said president of LAPRYAL (Latvian Association of Educators Russian language and literature) Elena Dmitrievna Berdnikova.

Conference of Russian philologists in Washington.
"Language, culture, mentality: the theories and the practice" - it`s the name of international conference that was held in Washington concerning the problems of functioning, teaching and study of russian language in Northern America. It was held within the limits of the Year of Russian language in the world. There took part more than 40 scientists-specialists in Russian philology from Russia and the CIS countries, and also about 30 experts from the USA. Among invited - rectors of universities, heads of public funds and representatives of associations.

It is a joint project of RLC and geographical faculty of MGU. The course answers the questions asked by foreign citizens, and touches upon key areas of economic, political and cultural geography of Russia. The course of Russian does possible dialogue with Russian people.

Study russian at MGU is far better than the 2 years studying at home.
I have found that to study russian at MGU for 2 weeks is far better than the 2 years I have spent studying on my own at home. My teacher Tatyana was very understanding, helpful anf patient. She pointed out my strenghts and areas where

Support of programs of russian language study as priority task before Federal Assembly.
In his message to Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Mr.Putin stressed why it is prestigious to study russian: "This year declared as a Year of Russian language, we should remind, that Russian is a language of a historical brotherhood of people, language of really international dialogue.
It is not simply the keeper of the world achievements, but also alive space of the Russian world, which, certainly, much more widely, than Russia. Therefore, as the general property of many people,
Russian never becomes language of hatred or enmity, xenofobia or nationalism.
I consider necessary to support the initiative of the Russian linguists about creation of national fund of Russian language which main criteria should become development of Russian in the country, support of programs of russian language studying in near and far abroad and in the whole - popularization of Russian and the literature in the world."

The Year of Russian Language
In the beginning of 2007 25-th anniversary international exhibition "Expolang" took place in the central expocentre of Paris - the annual linguistic forum, devoted to development of the international education and studying of foreign languages.
