Our Centre carries out preparation and arranges official testing of foreign citizens for receipt of International Standard National Certification (Test of Russian as a Foreign Language, TORFL). Sorry, home! Most of the students of the Russian language centre don't leave Moscow for Christmas holidays, they prefere to stay in Russia to celebrate this wonderful hoiday, to see how much beautiful it is in the Russian capitol. First of all they are interested in the new winter program organized by Centre managers. Excursions, differend kinds of activities in a Russian way - what coud be better to know more of Russia! So, this year the rule to come back home for Christmas Eve is broken and we make sure they won't regret!

¨-ìî¸!!!

Almost nobody knows what does it mean exactly but everybody says this expression even more often then blinking. It could mean something like "Damn!" just a little bit stronger. We would like to bring your attention to the wonderful letter ¨ in Russian alphabet. In the very end of November it was birthday of this letter and the teachers and students of the Russian language centre celebrated it. The ¨ is the youngest letter of all Russian ones - it's only 220 years old. The letter is interesting because it consists of two sounds - "j" + "o" and it's ALWAYS stressed. There is very sad tendency to substitute ¨ with E in writing and speech. The teachers of the Russian language centre won't let ¨ die therefore they teach all the students to use it correctly, to read the words containing ¨, even if E is written. So, for the ¨'s birthady students prepared many greetings, they tried to use ¨ as much as possible and they helped it to survive.

The new course for foreign students and native Russians is to be started. Do you speak Russian perfectly, want to teach Russian and need a special certificate? The Russian language centre gives you an opportunity to become a teacher of Russian. The new page of the Russian language centre web-site is preparing to come into being. More and more people that learning the Russian in the centre want to become a Russian teachers after an ordinary Russian course, but the teaching means using the special methods, terms and aspects of grammar. The training staff determined to add this course by the students' request. The page will be published very soon so, if you are interested in it keep up with the site news.

Russian Pantomime

The mgu-russian.com. has started teaching a new aspect of Russian language for foreign students. Students start to learn a very special and important method of communication, so-called "not verbal" - the language of Russian gestures. This new course is not necessarily for all the students, just for those who had an interesting experience without knowing the Russian gestures. Usually a foreigner is surprised when he finds out that in some situations Russian language doesn't exist without gestures. If you don't speak Russian but you know a few common movements you can easily find new friends or ask for something, etc. The course is very interesting, because to explain to a student the meaning of a gesture is to tell a story (the concrete situation) where one can use it.!
