Celebration of 65th years of Outsider Writer's birth
On the 24th of October the famous Russian writer of the Soviet age Venedikt Yerofeev would be 65 years old.
The author of the famous novel "Moscow to the end of the Line" (in Russian - "Москва - Петушки") was born in 1938 in
Corel. His grandfather was subject to repression and shot as a national enemy, his father was put to jail for "distribution of the anti-Soviet propaganda".
In spite of this, he was a excellent pupil at school, he entered the MGU but was expelled after 3 semesters of study. The official reason was his "behavior".
During his life Yerofeev worked as a glass expert, policeman, guard, constructor, etc. He was never interested in his work, he was writing his famous book. The text of the novel spread around the USSR in penscript copies. In the years of "free voice" the censored version was issued legally -limited by the boundaries of the antialcoholic campaign. The novel tells about the drunk Russian man travelling in a train "Moskva-Petushki", talking to his fellow travellers.
Venedikt Yerofeev, a Russian underground legend, died on the 11th of May 1990.

The creators of the world: Mark Zakharov is 70!
The legend of the Russian Theatre
celebrates his 70th anniversary.
Somehow he happened to perform
famous "Yunona i Avos'" in a hard
soviet age, to make the hall of the
theatre "Lenkom" full when it was critical
situation in it. He started his career in the
students theatre of the MGU famous for it's
fee-thinking performances. He did a lot both at the
theatre and cinema. The first film was "The 12 chairs",
then "Ordinary wonder", "Very that Munchausen", "To kill
the dragon". He was the first who combined theatre and
video and made it harmonic. Zakharov realized that
humor is not enough to express our life, so he
promoted irony. The music in his pieces is
very important thing - it's not just a sound
in the back, but the mood and colour of the
scene. He works with the best actors and presented
to us the best films. We thank him for his kindness
and wish to get it all back!
